Places to Go and Things to See

LEFT: Yes, it's still here--the Tulsa Rose Gardens -- a breath of fresh air in the middle of the city.

RIGHT: Spavinaw Dam. You are looking at Tulsa's water supply, both then and now.

LEFT: Bird Creek Falls, Tulsa, 1908

The Arkansas River separates West Tulsa from the downtown area and the rest of the City. The area long the river flooded from time to time until the Keystone Dam was completed. The Arkansas River is now bounded by a park which is supposed to be an area for runners, bicycling, and family outings. Safety tip: Don't go there late at night or any other time when it isn't crowded with people, and don't go alone.
