Retail and Commercial Establishments

Scott-Rice is undoubtedly one of the oldest and best-known businesses in Tulsa. The store was known for its excellent customer service.  This photograph, taken in 1922, was furnished to the museum by William J. Welch. Mr. Welch's father, Taft Welch, the founder of Scott-Rice, is standing behind the counter wearing a tie and vest.
